About Us

About Us

We don’t fix people. We build what we need side by side, from what we’ve lived.

The Lived Experience Project Inc. is a Detroit-rooted, youth-centered nonprofit that transforms lived experience into leadership, healing, and legacy. We partner with communities to design ecosystems—not just programs—that help young people name what they carry, and build what they need.

Our Mission

At The Lived Experience Project Inc., we grow together, heal together, and create what we need. We take what we’ve lived through and turn it into strength, skills, and community. This is where we build what didn’t exist before together through technology, community growth, and lived experience. We create tools that grow from real experience and equip youth to lead what’s next.

To reclaim and redesign what programming, partnership, and potential look like for youth and families—through the truth of lived experience, rooted in faith, healing, and skill-building.

What We Do

We create place-based healing ecosystems across Michigan, blending culture, creativity, and care. Through digital labs, community hubs, and faith-anchored leadership paths, we help youth move from trauma to testimony—and from experience to expertise.

Our Method

Moments, not modules: Flexible, story-driven learning environments grounded in real life.

Tech as testimony: Coding, AI, and digital storytelling rooted in lived truth.

Healing as design: Spaces where rest, reflection, and renewal are core—not extra.

Return as leadership: Youth who walk through our work come back to lead it.

Who We Serve

We serve youth, families, and communities especially those navigating school systems, reentry, or identity disconnection. Our focus is not on what’s broken. It’s on what’s already present, already powerful, and ready to be activated.
